Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation

The Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation is an introductory qualification designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to gain entry level employment in the resources and infrastructure industries. It allows individuals to develop basic skills and knowledge to prepare for work, including limited technical skills developed under close supervision.

There are both licensed and non-licensed units of competency relating to high risk work in the RII09 Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.

Requirements for completion of the qualification

The following table provides the packaging rules for this qualification, followed by the list of relevant units of competency.

Successful completion of eight (8) units of competency made up of:

  • two (2) mandatory units, and
  • six (6) elective units of which:
    • at least three (3) must come from the specified electives or high risk work electives listed below
    • up to two (2) from the general electives listed below
    • up to one (1) unit may come from Certificate II level from this, or any other Training Package
